Watch the sun descend into the Mediterranean from Oran's most beautiful beach
As the sun begins its descent over the open Mediterranean, the sky above Les Andalouses transforms into a canvas of gold, amber and rose. This is widely considered the most beautiful sunset experience in all of Algeria — and it is completely free.
Arrive at Les Andalouses beach around one hour before sunset. Settle into one of the seafront café terraces with a mint tea or fresh juice, and watch as the light changes over the water. Local vendors sell corn, snacks and cold drinks along the beach.
Les Andalouses is 30km west of central Oran — a 30-minute drive or shared taxi ride. Plan to arrive with enough time to choose your spot before the golden hour begins.
